British Council launched the Teacher Education Planning Handbook in New Delhi on Wednesday 14 June 2017.
A discussion on teacher education took place between a panel of speakers featuring * Mr Sanjay Awathi – Member Secretary, National Council of Teacher Education * Mr AN Ramachandra – Joint Commissioner (Academic), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti * Prof Rama Mathew, retired from Delhi University * Mrs Maya Menon, Founder Director of The Teacher Foundation, based in Bangalore, and * Mrs Kalpana Maheshwari, Head Teacher, Corporation of Chennai secondary school. The panel was chaired by Amy Lightfoot, Assistant Director English Partnerships (Academic). The discussion highlighted the need for a focus on in-school support for teachers continuing professional development, the importance of giving teachers choices with regards to teacher education opportunities available to them and how technology has an important role to play in terms of making high quality resources available |
